In one 9-year study of 105 CPEP participants referred by state medical boards who underwent assessments and personalized educational plans, 85.7% returned to practice without further incident (recidivism).
Assessment and Education Improves Clinical Performance
A peer-reviewed study published in the Journal of Medical Regulation demonstrated the impact CPEP’s Assessment and Education programs can have on clinical performance. Authors examined a group of 2,073 patient charts submitted through our Practice Monitoring Program.
One group of charts was submitted by physicians who had completed CPEP’s Assessment and Education Programs before entering into monitoring. Another group of charts were submitted by physicians who enrolled in monitoring without completing the Assessment and Education Programs.
Charts submitted by Assessment and Education “alumni” were 5.49 times more likely to meet generally accepted standards of care than were charts submitted by the “monitoring only” cohort.
Moving the Needle in Record Keeping
A 2024 study presented at the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Federation of State Medical Boards illustrated the dramatic effect of CPEP’s Medical Record Keeping Seminar and 6-Month Follow-Up Program on the quality of participants’ record keeping.
